The Ford Maverick, especially its hybrid variant, has been a highly sought-after vehicle in the new car market since its release. This comes as no surprise, given its affordable price and impressive fuel efficiency, comparable to economy cars. The Maverick has consistently attracted owners of such vehicles, maintaining its position on the Kelley Blue Book Brand Watch report’s list of the most considered electrified vehicles. This includes the fourth quarters of 2021, 2022, and the second and third quarters of 2022. Even in recent months, interest in the Ford Maverick Hybrid has not diminished. Once again, the compact pickup has made it onto KBB’s list of the most considered electrified vehicles, this time in the first quarter of 2023, joining the Ford Escape in this regard.
The Ford Maverick Hybrid secured the fourth spot on this top 10 list, experiencing a significant 32 percent increase in consideration among shoppers from the fourth quarter of 2022 to the first quarter of 2023.
The latest KBB Brand Watch report indicates that while electric vehicles (EVs) are gaining traction in the market, shoppers still show a strong interest in hybrid vehicles. In the last quarter, 27 percent of new vehicle shoppers considered an electrified vehicle. Among them, 18 percent explored hybrid or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), while nine percent considered an all-electric vehicle.
This list forms part of KBB’s Q1 2023 Brand Watch report, which is a consumer perception survey that incorporates shopping behavior to evaluate how a brand or model fares against its competitors in various factors crucial to a consumer’s buying decision. Kelley Blue Book produces these quarterly Brand Watch reports for both non-luxury and luxury brands, focusing on shopping for electrified vehicles, including fully electric vehicles, hybrids, and alternative fuel vehicles.
