Gary Crossley Ford is excited to share that the Ford F-150 Lightning has once again received well-deserved recognition! We’re proud to announce that the F-150 Lightning has been selected as one of the recipients of Kelley Blue Book’s 2023 Best Resale Value awards, alongside the Ford Bronco SUV and Ford Maverick compact pickup.
The F-150 Lightning’s estimated five-year resale value of 57 percent earned it this particular honor, and it also ranked at the top of the EV pickup segment. Although it may not have made it into the top ten overall, we’re still thrilled to see it on this prestigious list.
Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Value Awards are based on projections from the organization’s Official Residual Value Guide. These residual values are established by automotive analysts who review the output from statistical models built upon millions of transactions. The vehicles that earn the highest five-year residual values, expressed as a percentage of their original Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), are selected for these awards.
As KBB points out, depreciation is typically the largest expense facing new vehicle owners in the first five years of ownership. On average, a 2023 model-year vehicle will only retain about 45 percent of its original value following that time period. That means a $45,000 new vehicle today will be worth around $20,250 after five years. By comparison, all vehicles in Kelley Blue Book’s Top 10 for Best Resale Value in 2023 awards are projected to retain around 60 percent or more of their MSRP after the initial five-year ownership period.
We’re honored to see the F-150 Lightning recognized for its exceptional value retention, as well as all of its other accolades. It’s truly a remarkable vehicle, and we’re thrilled to offer it to our customers. Just another example of the Crossley Difference.
