The Ford F-Series has done it again, securing its spot as the best-selling truck in America for the 46th consecutive year. Not only that, it was also the best-selling vehicle overall for the 41st year in a row. Ford sold over 640,000 F-Series pickups in 2022, cementing its place as a leader in the automotive industry.
In fact, the company sold at least one F-Series pickup every 49 seconds throughout the year, and if you lined up all the trucks sold in 2022, they would stretch for 2,400 miles – further than the distance from Los Angeles to Detroit. These impressive feats were achieved despite production challenges caused by supply chain issues.
“We’re honored and humbled that our customers have helped us achieve this milestone for more than four decades,” said Kumar Galhotra, president of Ford Blue. “The Ford truck team’s ability to anticipate customer needs, continuously innovate, and provide best-in-class levels of capability and performance has helped make F-Series the sales leader time and time again.”
The Ford F-Series is expected to continue its strong sales in 2023 with the release of the all-new 2023 Ford Super Duty and the continued success of the Ford F-150 Lightning, which became the best-selling EV pickup on the market after accumulating 15,000 sales in 2022.
The Ford F-150 is also due for a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year, with the updated pickup expected to debut later this year.
