The Ford Mustang Mach-E has been a popular choice among electric vehicle (EV) buyers since its debut in 2021, and demand for the EV crossover shows no signs of slowing down. According to CarGurus’ 2022 Intelligence Snapshots report, the Mustang Mach-E was one of the most viewed new cars on the site this year, coming in fifth place on the list. The report also found that the vast majority of Mustang Mach-E buyers, 73.3%, are new to Ford, and a significant number of them are making the switch from gas-powered vehicles. In the US, 8 out of 10 Mach-E buyers previously owned gas-powered cars, while in Europe the number was 9 out of 10.
Millennials have shown the most interest in the Mustang Mach-E, with 3 out of 10 buyers belonging to that age group. The Mach-E has also been successful in luring away customers from other brands, with its top conquests being the Toyota RAV4, Jeep Wrangler, and Honda CR-V. Additionally, 23% of Mach-E buyers are coming from luxury brands.
The Mustang Mach-E continues to hold its own against its chief rival, the Tesla Model Y, as well as the highly popular Model 3, in the highly competitive all-electric vehicle segment. With supply still outpacing demand, it’s no surprise that the Mustang Mach-E is a top choice for EV buyers.
