In a move that has car enthusiasts buzzing with excitement, Ford has introduced a matte clear film option for the 2024 Ford Mustang, marking a significant enhancement in both style and protection for this iconic model.Â
The introduction of the matte clear film is not just about aesthetic appeal; it’s a testament to Ford’s commitment to offering personalized options to its customers. Available across all coupe models – EcoBoost, GT, and the Dark Horse – this option is compatible with all factory color choices, ensuring that every Mustang enthusiast can enjoy the sleek, modern look that matte finish provides. Convertible models will follow suit in Q4, making this stylish option accessible to a broader range of Mustang lovers.Â
Priced at $5,995, the matte wrap is not only about making a style statement. It comes with a comprehensive three-year/36,000-mile factory warranty, mirroring the assurance provided with the 2024 model year Mustang itself. This initiative demonstrates Ford’s confidence in the durability and quality of this new feature.Â
Developed in collaboration with PPG, the matte clear film serves a dual purpose. Beyond its striking visual impact, it offers robust protection against environmental factors like bird droppings, bugs, asphalt residue, and even the harsh chemicals found in automatic car wash solutions. This development is a clear indication of how Ford is leveraging technology to enhance the Mustang’s durability and maintain its aesthetic appeal over time.Â
However, it’s important to note that the matte film option does come with some restrictions. For instance, 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse owners will have to forego the standard Hood Accent Stripe or the Painted Racing Stripe if they opt for the matte film. Similarly, it’s not available with the GT California Special package or the optional graphics packages for the Mustang EcoBoost and GT models.Â
