The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E has earned its fair share of accolades in recent months, including achieving Consumer Reports recommended car status. Now, the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E is adding to its trophy case and joining a number of other Blue Oval products by earning a 2022 Kelley Blue Book Best Buy award.
KBB’s Best Buy awards have been kind to The Blue Oval, which has thus far raked in a number of distinctions, including the 2022 Ford Maverick winning Best New Model and Best New Compact Truck, as well as the 2021 Ford F-150 bringing home Best Full-Size Truck, and the 2022 Ford Expedition winning Best Full-Size SUV honors. Now, the Mach-E joins that group by being awarded Best Electric Vehicle. “Driving the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E makes you believe in Ford’s commitment to an electric future,” KBB said. “It offers an engaging balance of great performance, fresh style, and modern tech that no other mainstream EV can approach.”
Kelley Blue Book determines its annual Best Buy Awards based on a year-long evaluation and testing of nearly every new vehicle available in the United States, along with data analysis that includes pricing, its 5-Year Cost to Own data, consumer reviews, ratings, and sales data. To be considered for Best New Model, a vehicle must be all-new or redesigned and offer a strong value proposition to consumers based on pricing, innovation, and available standard technology and safety features.
In just its second model year of production, the 2022 Mustang Mach-E will be receiving a few updates. In addition to coming with a second key fob, the 2022 Mach-E will also be gaining some usable battery capacity over the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E, which will, in turn, give the EV crossover more range, though the EV crossover will also cost a bit more for the 2022 model year. Other changes include the addition of the new Ice White Edition Appearance Package, while a black-painted roof is now standard on Mustang Mach-E GT and GT Performance Edition models. Grabber Blue Metallic and Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat are now available on all Mach-E models, while Iced Blue Silver Metallic joins the color lineup for the 2022 model year.
