2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Build & Price Configurator Is Live

My Post 99

Pricing for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning leaked out way back in July of last year, but we’ve been waiting patiently for all of those numbers – along with the all-electric pickup’s options and features – to be finalized, officially speaking. Now, that day has come, as the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning build and price configurator has launched over at Ford.com. This comes on the very same day that Ford announced it will nearly double its planned Lightning production by mid-2023, as well as a couple of days before reservation holders will be able to convert them to orders in the first of many planned “waves.”

Pricing for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is essentially unchanged across the board from this past summer’s leaked figures, save for the fact that the range-topping Platinum trim now costs $1,000 more than expected. These prices don’t include a mandatory destination charge of $1,695, however.

The Lightning Pro is the value leader with a sub-$40k starting MSRP, and it comes reasonably well-equipped with a standard 12-inch touchscreen, 12-inch digital gauge cluster, Sync 4, 2.4 kW Pro Power Onboard, and Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0. Options can quickly increase that price, with the Max Trailer Tow Package adding $865, the Tow Technology Package tacking on $1,948, and a host of accessories are also available for an additional cost.

The XLT with the Extended Ranger battery figures to be a popular value choice, with a price tag of $54,669, though it offers a staggering number of options, including the pricey $9,500 312A equipment group that adds 9.6 kW Pro Power Onboard, 20-inch Dark Carbonized wheels, heated seats, and other niceties. Of course, those that want more luxurious options can opt for the Lariat, while the Platinum offers essentially every option as standard equipment, including the Max Trailer Tow Package, Extended Range Battery, and Tow Technology Package.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning production entered its final pre-build phase this week. The production-level trucks emerging from the assembly line now will be used for testing in real-world conditions over the course of one million collective miles before full-scale production begins, followed by the very first deliveries this coming spring.
