The 2022 Ford Maverick has been a massive hit since its launch months ago, with dealer inventory turning in four days as the compact pickup attracts a diverse array of new vehicle shoppers including everyone from first-time truck buyers to Honda Civic and business owners, as well as fleet customers. As demand has far outweighed supply, the Maverick is also one of the most commonly marked-up vehicles on sale today while some 2022 orders will ultimately be pushed back to the 2023 model year. Last month, the 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid took 15.5 days to sell at an average price of $28,488, which was good enough to rank seventh on the latest iSeeCar’s top 20 fastest-selling new vehicles list. The electrified compact pickup was preceded by the Honda CR-V, which topped all new vehicles as it took 7.6 days to sell, as well as the Genesis GV70 (12.2 days), Lexus RX350 (13.0 days), Toyota Highlander (13.6 days), Toyota Camry (15.1 days), and Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (15.3 days).

“The Ford Maverick is in such high demand that dealerships stopped taking retail orders for the vehicle for the 2022 model year, and the limited versions on dealer lots are commanding a premium over MSRP,” said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. “The demand for the Maverick represents the public’s fervor for the newly created compact pickup truck segment, which provides the function of pickup at a more affordable price, while offering excellent fuel efficiency.”

The Maverick Hybrid – which recently earned a Vincentric 2022 Best Fleet Value in America Award – remains difficult to find at any price, let alone MSRP, but there are ways to speed up delivery on retail orders by ditching certain supply constrained options.
